Greg Brewer for Lexington Town Council

VOTE on November 4, 2025

Greg Brewer

Raised in South Carolina and shaped by years leading infrastructure businesses coast-to-coast, I returned home 5 years ago during Covid Lockdowns. I live one block from Town Hall. I’ve seen what unchecked growth does to towns. Let’s keep Lexington strong, safe, more fun and enjoyable. Quality of life is #1.

A vote for BREW is a vote for YOU. Here's how:

BALANCE

  • No Voice for Town Center: No current council member lives in the town center—yet we all deal with 378/1/6 traffic gridlock daily. I live two blocks from Town Hall and will bring that perspective. We live here - let's protect it!

  • Foundations First, Branding and Marketing Later: We must prioritize critical infrastructure/safety over options spend. Roads before parks—must-do before nice-to-do.

  • Independent and Practical: I'm a semi-retired engineer with no financial ties to the town except for paying my too high water bill and property taxes. I have no conflicts of interest and want better results.

RESULTS

  • Opened the Books: Initiated the effort that led to publishing all itemized town expenses online—before that, even basic expensing requests were ignored.

  • Made Government More Visible: Asked for more livestreams and better public notice of meetings, expanding transparency beyond just regular council sessions.

  • Stopped a Bad Deal:  Led a grassroots team that successfully stopped the 93-acre tourist trap proposed by the former mayor.

EFFICIENCY

  • Let Residents Decide: Offer low, medium, and high-cost options for future capital projects, based on broad community input.

  • Support the Town Team: Boost morale and performance through better pay and by listening to staff ideas.

  • Save Through Partnerships: Explore shared services with other towns or the county - like IT services - to gain leverage and cut costs.

  • Limit Closed-Door Meetings: Reduce time spent in Executive Session to ensure more public discussion and accountability.

WINS (to come)

  • Cut Taxes Through Efficiency: Push to reduce the millage rate by streamlining operations, accelerating waste, teaming with munis/counties.

  • Update the Rules: Modernize building and zoning ordinances to better protect infrastructure capacity and community safety.

  • Coordinate Growth Standards: Work with the County to align development rules, reducing annexations that drive unchecked town expansion.

  • More Financial Transparency:  Publish all credit card statements, just like the school district now does.
